At this year’s meeting, conference participants will explore how we as Lutheran educators might rise to the challenge of facing and transcending the pervasive “whatever” culture that so dominates the values of our culture and the attitudes of many of our students.

Speakers, presenters and meaningful dialogue among participants will lead conferees to a richer understanding of some of the issues facing our classrooms today and how “values based learning” might effectively address some of these concerns.

Our keynote speaker for this event will be Nadinne Cruz, former director of the Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford University and now an independent consultant for colleges and universities. Her keynote address is titled "Service-Learning: Reflections on an Experiential Approach to Values Education in a 'Whatever' World."
