Sample Aid Packages - Maria
Maria’s high school career had been a good balance
of activities, community service and academics. Her Act of 25,
class rank (at the 90%) and GPA of 3.45 she knew were good – but
most likely not high enough to win a complete academic scholarship.
It was very important for Maria
to continue her education at a college where she could continue
her commitment to extra-curricular
activities and community service – while receiving a strong academic
education as well. Maria was sure that the Lutheran college that
was her first choice met all her criteria – but was worried about
the cost of the program.
Her parents’ income was limited.
Maria’ community service activities were rewarded by a merit
scholarship
from the college and a scholarship from a community agency
as well. Coupled with additional aid from the college, Maria
found
that
she was able to manage the investment in her education.
